Stop worrying about Arctic ice melt. According to a new research by National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) scientists, the Arctic ice may stabilize or even grow over the next few decades. The research was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the results were published by the American Geophysical Union. The study showed some unexpected results if we take into consideration the fast Arctic ice melt over the last decade and the current climate conditions.
The software they have used to generate the results is known as the Community Climate System Model. The funds for the software came from NSF and the Department of Energy and the development was made as NCAR in collaboration with other organizations. Before the research, the team evaluated the model to see if it is a credible tool for their study. I don’t know about you but I am a little bit relieved and I want to believe that the results are correct.
