I liked Far Cry very much, the story is very good and it is not only about shooting and killing. It has similar features with Assassin’s Creed like liberating outposts and killing animals to get their skin and use it to craft other objects. In order for you to read this it means that you already played it so I will get to the point. Follow the following simple instructions and you will have God mode and/or unlimited ammo (for PC).
1. Locate the GamerProfile.xml file in the Documents > My Games > Far Cry 3
2. Make a backup and then open it with Notepad, Wordpad or any editor of your choice
3. Find the line <GameProfile /> and replace it with <GameProfile UnlimitedAmmo=”1″ GodMode=”1″ />
4. Save the file then right click on it, click on properties, check the Read-only box and click Apply. This will lock the changes otherwise you will have to change it every time before you start the game.
To disable any of the options instead of 1 (enabled) you put 0 (disabled). Happy hunting !
After request I provide a modded Far Cry 3 Ultimate game save starter for Xbox 360. I didn’t test it as I don’t have Xbox and I think you don’t have everything at the beginning but you get the mods while playing.
It includes the following mods:
-God Mode
-Infinite Ammo
-Infinite Money
-Fully Maxed Out Skill Points
-Fully Maxed Out Loot RuckSack
-Fully Maxed Out Weapon Holster
-Fully Maxed Out Wallet
After further request I included also the PS3 save game. I didn’t test it since I don’t have PS3 and there is no way for my to check it. Let me know if you tested it and it works. I will provide any support if that doesn’t work.
It has the following:
-Max XP
-Max Skill Points
-Max Money

By unlocking life you mean enable or disable God Mode?
hi i loved farcry 3 pc game but main issue is that i always run out of ammo and compelled to die you told about solution but i m in dilemma, how to change that xml file please help
You can open notepad and then File > Open and locate the file.
The Cheat worked the first time but when I load the game and click Continue it just crashes, any ideas?
I am not sure if the crash is relevant to the cheats.
Try remove the read only from the file and see if it fixes the problem and then redo the process.
If this doesn’t fix it then the crash is probably not relevant with the cheats.

Thanks for the help, unfortunately changing the Read Only didn’t help, I even went as far as returning the file to its original state which also didn’t work so I uninstalled the game then reinstalled it and I’m using a Trainer which is working just fine. Not sure if it was something I did to the file or it came that way. It was a free download with my new graphics card and was through Uplay.
The steps are very trivial to follow. Although I didn’t mention that it doesn’t work on the fly. You need to close the game, make the changes and start the game again to take effect.
The cheats are from the developers of the game and crash was not relevant but I am glad you can play the game again.

It’s been a while since I uninstall it and I don’t remember if it was applicable for frags.
If it is working for everything else but frags then you might need a trainer (if it is really needed).

Hi, if it was empty it is either <GameProfile /> or <GameProfile></GameProfile>.
If it is the second option replace the first one but remove the “/” from it.
If you still have problem, add another comment with the file content and I will tell you what to replace.
How do I activate God Mode during the game? I changed the line code, but can not seem to get God Mode to work.
You don’t activate it, you have it all the time if you have the modified file.
Make sure you marked the file “read only” because the game modifies it otherwise when it starts.

I think there is problem with the generated HTML.
Delete and rewrite the quotes by yourself and it will be fine.

Hi Hrishikesh, it is only one file, check that you edited the correct one. Open it after you make it read only and see that the change is still there.

Check that you didn’t replace the first and last tags which is a common mistake.

This is strange. If you have windows 7 check the path with saved games which is C:\ProgramData\Orbit\46
It is hidden so change your folder options if you can’t see it. If you see them there then undo the read only of the xml and check if the game can now see them and re-enable the cheats. If you don’t see them in the folder you can download a savegame from the internet and check if you can continue on those.

Try put ‘%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3’ in windows explorer without the ‘ and check if you can see the file. It depends on what version of Windows you have. Let me know if that helped you.

Hi, you don’t change the location of the file, you save the changes you made. If it prompts for a new location it means it is read only or you don’t have access to edit it. You don’t have to do anything else to activate the mods, after following the steps, start the game and mods will be active.

There are not 2. GameProfile and GamerProfile are different. Read more carefully.

The file contains the settings for the game including display and controls. If I send you the file I will mess with the rest of the settings. If you follow the instructions very carefully it will work. It is from the developers of the game. The common mistake is between gamerprofile and gameprofile.

The save overwrites the file. You don’t have to select path for that. If it doesn’t work then you either forgot the read only part or you replaced wrong xml tag. If you still have problem let me know and I will provide you my personal email to send me your file to fix it for you.

If you follow the instructions you will see the Read-only checkbox near the bottom of the file properties window.

No, I used it in the middle of the game but if I remember correctly you need to load a saved game other than the last one.

I didn’t heard that before. AppData folder although is a hidden folder. Open folder options (type folder options in search) and go to view tab. In the hidden files and folders section select the Show hidden files, folders and drives. Apply changes and try to search again. Let me know if that helped.

If you follow all the steps, most probably you need to replace the double quotes. I saw that it looks different on the site and copy paste will not work. Delete them and type them manually and it will work. I will fix it soon.

How come the Unlimited Ammo doesn’t include grenades? I was hoping to be able to pelt dudes with an infinite quiver of explosive arrows like a psychotic Robin Hood.
I don’t know why they didn’t include grenades to the unlimited ammo. Maybe they don’t like the psychotic version of Robin Hood!

Make sure you didn’t forget to mark the file as read-only. If you don’t, the next time it will save the settings, it will revert your changes.

How to make unlimited money in farcry3
You can’t do it from the xml file. You can use a trainer to do it. I don’t remember I ever had any problem with money except the fact my wallet was often full.
I altered the game file and made it read only.. even then i couldn’t get on to god mode or unlimited ammo
The double quotes were replaced on my last save. It should be normal double quotes. I fixed it again, try now and let me know.

Only reason I can think of is if you didn’t mark the file as read-only. It can be overridden and on next start cheats will not be enabled.

I tried it in all versions, steam, no steam, original, non-original and those cheats worked in all versions. Those are created by the developers and they work. In most cases the mistake is either the read-only step or wrong tag replacement. There are two tags, GameProfile and GamerProfile, make sure you replaced the correct one.
