Unreal Engine 4

This is the elemental demo video of the Unreal Engine 4 by Epic. The architecture of this new Unreal Engine offers fully dynamic lighting features. Watch the video and see how realistic is and what incredible thinks can be done with this engine. This is very promising for the future of PC gaming and maybe this is a good time for me to buy a better PC. In addition the new Unreal Kismet gives the possibility to designers to create and put directly into the game without help by programmer. Also, Hot Updates allow programmers to make changes and see the effect of those changes immediately to the game, even pause is not needed. Finally, Live Kismet Debugging allows you to see and interact with the game while testing it. There is nothing more to say, jump to Unreal Engine 4 and start creating games for us to be amazed.

Change your LinkedIn password

Part of LinkedIn database was leaked and millions of (encrypted) passwords are now in the hands of hackers with potential malicious use. Even though encryption is strong this doesn’t mean your password is safe. They can find your password with a brute force attack and they will do it because they are not cracking one password which might not be worth the time but they can crack millions of passwords simultaneously. It is a matter of time until they crack the passwords and the best protection now is to change your password so even if they find which was the password it will now be different and don’t be able to access your account. If you don’t change the password and your account is hijacked then don’t complain about it because is your fault.

NSA as Big Brother

NSA is recording all forms of electronic communications and is doing it without any court-approved warrants which are required by any other agencies. The number of the recorded communications is about 1.7 billion in a daily base. This includes emails, phone calls, sms texts and any other form of electronic communication. The numbers are very scary and some people are still unaware of that fact. If you put that text in hard copy it is equivalent to 138 million books, every day. NSA has as many employees as FBI and CIA together and its data center in Utah is 5.7 times larger than the U.S Capitol. This is not the only data center NSA has, there are dozens of them, but it is the largest. Next time you will pick up the phone, be careful of what you say because everything is recorded, everything.

Batman’s House

Some people believe that batman exists and he is not a fictional character. There are many superheroes but batman is the more realistic one, his superpowers are money and gym. At least he uses them to make world a better place. Enough with the introduction, this post is to inform you that after some research we have found where he is hiding. His greatest weakness is that he likes his logo very much and he couldn’t resist to put it on the roof of his building. As you all know, with so many satellites nothing stays hidden forever. Batman is now in Okinawa and if you don’t believe the fact you can see it for yourself.

Wolfenstein 3D is 20 years old

Happy birthday to Wolfenstein 3D which is now 20 years old. Twenty years ago, 5 May 1992, Wolfenstein 3D was released. It was the first first person shooter (FPS) and this is how the era of FPS games began. It was this game that started it all. To celebrate the 20 years of Wolfenstein 3D they have created a website (source link) where you can play the game (for free) from your browser. It might be a little difficult to play (for those that never played it) but just keep in mind that it is a DOS game that was released in 1992. If you don’t even know DOS (and no, we don’t mean Denial of Service here) then you are too young or too ignorant and please leave this page immediately. For those about to play the game, we salute you.

I don’t like advertisement and I will try to never add ads to this website, especially not those flashy animated ones. Once again, thank you for your choice and support.

Iran to become a cyber super power

Iran has invested a lot in cyber capabilities, both offensive and defencive. They moved all government websites to local servers to protect them from attacks few months ago. Now they are hiring an army of hackers in order to become a cyber super power. According to rumors, they are building their arsenal and they will target US facilities like power grid and water systems. They will not attack just yet but they are being prepared for a future confrontation with the United States. One of the main reasons of Iran cyber decisions is the Stuxnet trojan and I can’t blame them. The soldiers of the future are hackers and the next war will most probably be electronic targeting valuable facilities.

Bad news for CISPA, good news for us

I was waiting for something like this one but even so I am very surprised. Cyber Inteligence Sharing and Protection Act is the new Internet bill, after SOPA and PIPA failed, which protects companies and blames Internet users for any copyrighted material. Big Internet companies prefer that bill because they care only for themselves and not for their users. The White House, after reviewing the bill, decided that will endanger Americans’ privacy and released official warning for a veto against CISPA. The statement claims that it will endanger user’s privacy, CISPA will shield companies from liability and grands NSA more power that it needs. Using web browsers which provides anonymity or encrypting your emails will be considered as a threat according to CISPA proposal.

Internet still expanding

nternet is still growing very fast and now the total website addresses are about 677 million. This is an increase of 150 million since the last topic on how many websites exist. From around 526 million websites on November 2011 to 677 million websites on April 2012. This is about 30 million new websites per month. Apache, as expected, is the number one choice web server with a 65.5% market share. Internet will continue expanding as more and more people and companies want their corner in that vast place called Internet.

Anonymous create PasteBin alternative

Anonymous were using PasteBin as a tool to post and share information they acquired or exploits they found. PasteBin was their first choice until it decided to censor its content and comply with law enforcement requests. Anonymous decided to create their own, uncensored alternative called AnonPaste. The site is based on the open source project ZeroBin. AnonPaste server has no knowledge of the pasted data. Stored data is encrypted and decrypted by the browser with 256 bits AES encryption algorithm. Anyone can paste anything anonymously just by opening the site and paste your content. The only thing you set is the expiration limit with minimum 10 minutes and no maximum. The maximum is when the website is closed or decide otherwise but until then your pasted data will be there. If you want to share your information, now there is a secure way to do this.
